The Owosso Bank and Savings Building, a 17,356-square-foot, three-story structure built in 1895 and located at 123 N. Washington Street in Downtown Owosso, is set to undergo a transformative adaptive re-use project beginning in the summer of 2025. Once home to a historic bank vault on the first floor and a Masonic meeting space on the third, the building will be renovated into commercial space on the ground floor with residential apartments on the upper levels. The redevelopment will include comprehensive upgrades such as new utilities, doors, windows, flooring, roofing, and enhancements to the concrete and masonry. Preservation Forward will serve as the historic preservation specialist for the project, providing technical guidance and expertise in financial incentives while collaborating closely with the property owners, architect, general contractor, tradespeople, and local, state, and federal partners to ensure the success of this significant historic rehabilitation at the corner of N. Washington and W. Exchange Streets.
